Community Grants & Divisional Funding

One of the best things about being a city councillor and county councillor is being able to fund projects for residents, local groups and charitites. Since being elected to Worcester City Council in 2023, I have been able to allocate up to £1000 per year from the Worcester Community Grant Fund. Additionally, I can now allocate up to £10,000 from Worcestershire County Council’s divisional funding scheme.   So far this year, I have allocated this funding to the following causes: Transistion Worcester: £200 Towards funding a first aid training for a number of volunteers at Worcester Community Garden and Repair Cafe Vamos Theatre: £500 Supporting their autumn shows at The Swan Theatre. These shows are especially made for people living with dementia, acquired brain injury, those with profound and multiple learning disabilities and anyone with life limiting conditions. Worcestershire Literary Festival & Fringe: £500 Help to continue the work the festival and fringe does in the community. Curious Minds – Literary Festival: £250 Funding Curious Minds 2026 will promote the social and educational well-being of children in my division by giving them access to local author, encouraging reading and creativity. The project will strengthen links between primary and secondary schools across Worcestershire. It will also benefit local authors economically, while allowing local families to purchase discounted books and reducing the barriers to literacy for young people. Worcester Snoezelen Music Sessions: £855 Funding will allow Worcester Snoezelen to replace essential music equipment, enabling their growing group and 1-1 sessions to continue supporting people across Worcestershire and beyond. These sessions provide social connection, skills development, and a safe space for self-expression, benefitting children, young people, and adults (including those from supported living). Updated equipment will also ensure they can take part in community events such as Worcester Show and Worcester Music Festival—promoting inclusion, wellbeing, and community pride.   You can also see the payments I have made since 2023 here:
